NSUI national president Varun Choudhary and All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba said students, teachers and young activists are being systematically targeted while BJP governments and state police continue to protect the perpetrators. They demanded immediate police action, accountability and strict measures to ensure safety and justice on campuses nationwide.

NSUI president Varun Choudhary said, “We have come together to expose a deeply alarming reality the RSS-ABVP nexus that is spreading violence, sexual harassment and intimidation across India’s campuses, fully protected by BJP governments and state police. From Delhi to Madhya Pradesh, Kerala to Rajasthan perpetrators are shielded, while those who protest are jailed.”

The press conference detailed several shocking incidents illustrating the growing menace. In Delhi University’s BR Ambedkar College, ABVP’s DUSU Joint Secretary Deepika slapped a senior professor in the principal’s office in the presence of Delhi Police and 50 ABVP members. NSUI demanded her immediate expulsion and police action. In Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, ABVP leaders were caught secretly filming female students during a college fest and despite CCTV evidence, the accused were shielded. NSUI demanded legal action and accountability from CM Mohan Yadav. In Kerala, IT professional Anandhu Aji died by suicide after revealing years of sexual exploitation inside RSS Shakhas, prompting NSUI to demand criminal prosecution of the perpetrators and a nationwide ban on RSS. In Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, NSUI leaders were jailed merely for protesting against RSS atrocities, highlighting political suppression of student voices. At South Asian University in Delhi, a female student was sexually assaulted on a CCTV-monitored campus and despite protests, no arrests have been made. NSUI demanded immediate arrests and a judicial inquiry.

NSUI’s key demands included immediate arrests in all cases, judicial inquiry into the Mandsaur and SAU incidents, release of NSUI leaders jailed for peaceful protests, a nationwide ban on RSS for promoting hate and violence, and full accountability from BJP governments for campus safety failures.

Choudhary added, “This is not just a student problem it’s about the safety of your daughters, sisters and children. India runs on the ideals of Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar, not hate and intimidation.”

Both organisations appealed to the media and the public to rise above political divides, recognise the threat posed by these violent organizations, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the fight until justice, safety and dignity are restored on every campus.
