A spokesperson for the Nuh police said that, in some cases, the suspects cheated people in the name of buying old coins, while in others they duped victims by pretending to have sent excess money by mistake and offering to return it. Accused Akil was arrested for selling fake SIM cards.

“During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing a dozen frauds in Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, Maharashtra and other states. Such campaigns will be conducted continuously to curb cyber-crime,” the spokesperson added.
