The Nuh police have arrested eight cyber fraudsters, during a special campaign, in three different cases.
According to a police spokesperson, on Friday, a police team got information that some youths, sitting behind empty shops near the Shikarawa Canal bridge, were indulging in cyber fraud using fake SIM cards and burner phones. The team took out a raid and arrested three accused. “They used to trap people using fake WhatsApp and Facebook accounts, make objectionable videos of them and extort money by threatening to make them viral,” the spokesperson said.
Further, three were arrested in a separate case related to transfer of money using a fake account. On the third case, the spokesperson said, “Two more cyber criminals, already wanted for registered cases, have been apprehended.”
