Minister for Social Welfare Ravinder Indraj Singh on Saturday announced that water pipelines in several villages of Bawana, which are 35–40 years old, will be replaced as they have been affecting the supply of drinking water.
On the same day, he inaugurated the work of laying a new water pipeline for Majra Dabas and Budhanpur Majra villages, located in Ward 31 of Nangal Thakran under the Bawana Assembly constituency.
The Minister said: “Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed that uninterrupted water and electricity supply must be ensured in Delhi’s villages. The development of villages and JJ colonies remains a top priority for the government.”
Ravinder Indraj directed the Delhi Jal Board officials to replace the old pipelines with high-quality ductile iron (DI) pipes and complete the work within three months. He also instructed them to ensure uninterrupted supply along with the pipeline laying work and to restore the affected roads. Later, the minister inaugurated a new transformer in Mungeshpur village.
