The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced the Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT) which will eliminate the need to purchase individual QR tickets for each journey. The initiative was introduced by DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr Vikas Kumar, on Thursday at a launch event at Metro Bhawan.

MJQRT available online from today

  • DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarathi app (Momentum 2.0) open from today
  • No need for individual QR tickets for each journey
  • Registered users can start with an initial balance of Rs 150
  • No security deposit required, app offers flexible recharge options
  • In case of loss or theft, the remaining balance remains protected
  • Ten per cent discount during peak hours

Seamless travel

With Multiple Journey QR Ticket, passengers can now enjoy seamless, hassle-free metro travel with just one QR code. — Dr Vikas Kumar, DMRC Managing Director

Dr Kumar said, “”With MJQRT, passengers can now enjoy seamless, hassle-free metro travel with just one QR code. This initiative will also contribute to a greener environment by reducing reliance on physical tickets and smart cards”.

The MJQRT will be available exclusively on DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarathi app (Momentum 2.0), allowing passengers to manage their journeys directly through the platform. Starting tomorrow, app users will be able to access the MJQRT and enjoy the numerous benefits it offers.Registered users can start with an initial balance of Rs 150, and no security deposit is required to avail of the service.

Additionally, the app offers flexible recharge options, allowing passengers to add value in multiples of Rs 50, with a maximum balance limit of Rs 3,000.

The new system aims to provide cost-effective solutions for metro users. Commuters will receive a ten per cent discount during peak hours (8 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm) and a 20 percent discount during off-peak hours. Security is another key feature of the MJQRT system. In case of loss or theft of the mobile device, the remaining balance remains protected. Users can recover their balance by logging into the app from another device.

The MJQRT is part of DMRC’s broader ‘Ease of Booking’ initiative to offermultiple ticketing and payment options to passengers .
