New Delhi, July 18
Delhi Education Minister Atishi convened a meeting of over 200 principals from Delhi Government and Delhi Government-aided schools at Veer Savarkar Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya at Kalkaji on Thursday.
The meeting focused on setting ambitious learning goals and strategies for the current academic session in the Delhi Government schools, officials said.
The principals shared how they increased the attendance of children in their schools by adopting unique methods, improved the results of children by giving individual attention, worked to change their habits, guided teachers and created a great learning environment in the school, and made parents partners in the studies of children.
Addressing the principals, Education Minister Atishi said that principals are not just administrators but school leaders who bring about real change in the lives of children at the grassroots level. The Delhi Education Minister further said that the principals of Delhi government schools have more responsibility to shoulder because the children coming to government schools probably come from the most difficult circumstances and most of the children are first-generation learners.
“The biggest change in any school can be brought about by the principal there. The changes in the school will be seen in the direction in which the principal leads the school,” she said.
The Education Minister also directed the officials that if there is a shortage of teachers in any school in the new session, it should be resolved immediately. “Be it infrastructure or teaching environment, everyone is aware of the changes in our schools. All these changes have come due to the hard work of our education team,” the minister added.
