PM Modi to attend Christmas celebrations hosted by Catholic Bishops Conference of India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the annual Christmas celebrations in the national capital on Monday, where he will be the chief guest at a gathering hosted by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI). The event will take place at the CBCI Office in New Delhi at 6:30 pm.

The celebration will be led by Archbishop Andrews Thazhath, president, CBCI, who will preside over the exchange of Christmas and New Year 2025 greetings. Church leaders, federal ministers, government officials, and civil service representatives are expected to attend.

Father Robinson, Public Relations Officer, CBCI, confirmed the Prime Minister’s attendance ahead of the event. Speaking to The Tribune on Saturday, Father Robinson shared, “The Prime Minister will be attending the celebration on Monday, where there will be speeches, carol singing, and a dinner.”

The CBCI, formed in September 1944, is a permanent association of Catholic Bishops in India. Its primary objectives include facilitating coordinated study and discussion on issues affecting the Church and promoting a common policy on matters concerning the Church’s interests in India.

Last year, Prime Minister Modi also hosted a Christmas celebration at his residence in the capital, continuing the tradition of fostering goodwill and unity among different communities during the festive season.
