PM-Uday Scheme: DDA’s single window camps get good response
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) launched its single window camps under the Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in the Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-Uday) scheme, receiving a positive response on the first day.
The camp, aimed at addressing issues related to the scheme, saw significant participation, with 414 new applications and 411 pending applications cleared. In total, 113 applications were approved, and 83 conveyance deeds and authorisation slips were issued to residents of unauthorised colonies.
The Lt-Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, visited the Shyam Vihar Najafgarh camp on Sunday and interacted with beneficiaries. During his visit, he distributed ownership certificates to 40 residents. “These camps not only clear deficiencies in old cases but also address new applications,” said the L-G. He also directed the DDA to expedite the resolution of 62,000 pending applications and process new ones efficiently to benefit as many people as possible.
The DDA is holding these camps every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29, across 10 processing centres located in unauthorised colonies. The aim is to provide a quick and effective solution to long-pending issues related to property ownership.
“Under the PM-Uday scheme, we are bringing government services directly to people’s doorstep,” L-G Saxena added. “I urge residents to take advantage of these camps to resolve any pending issues and secure their ownership rights.”
The camp services include the issuance of conveyance deeds and authorisation slips, GIS surveys, new registrations and assistance with I bond notarisations. DDA officials are also working to ensure timely processing of applications and granting ownership rights to residents.
MPs Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Bansuri Swaraj were also present at the camps held in Najafgarh and Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, respectively.
The PM-Uday scheme, launched to grant legal ownership to residents of unauthorised colonies, aims to address the needs of 1,731 such colonies in Delhi. The DDA’s effort to extend operational hours for processing centres, including weekends, reflects the commitment to expediting the resolution of ownership claims and improving accessibility for residents.
