Rain, thunderstorms likely in Delhi: IMD

The national capital is likely to witness rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted.

The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 26.7°C, 0.2° below normal for this time of the year. The relative humidity hovered at 97 per cent at 8:30 am, the weather department said.

The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 35°C.

The IMD’s prediction suggested that the city may experience moderate to heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms, which could impact daily commutes and outdoor activities. 

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions, such as carrying umbrellas and avoiding waterlogged areas.

Meanwhile, the air quality remained in the “satisfactory” category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 90, as per the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) 9 am bulletin.

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 51 and 100 is considered ‘satisfactory’, indicating acceptable air quality with minimal health risks for most people.
