Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi on his 80th birth anniversary by offering floral tributes at Rajiv Bhawan on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Yadav also attended a prayer meeting at Rajiv Gandhi's Samadhi at Veer Bhumi, Raj Ghat. "Rajiv Ji's vision laid the foundation for India's computer and telecom revolutions and his work towards Panchayati Raj and women's empowerment through legislative quotas remains unparalleled," Yadav remarked. Yadav launched the Mahendra Yadav scholarship scheme, aimed at supporting students excelling in various subjects. Several Congress leaders, including Manish Chatrath and former MLAs Anil Bhardwaj and Jaikishan, joined Yadav in paying their respects.
