A prisoner serving life sentence for rape and murder has gone missing after being released on parole. An FIR has been registered following a complaint by the Bhodsi Jail administration.
According to the complain, a minor girl was raped and murdered in 2018 Rewari district. The accused, Sunny, a resident of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, was subsequently arrested.
When the case went to court, based on the facts presented by the police, the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 15,000.
Sunny was transferred from Rewari to Bhondsi Jail in Gurugram.
“Prisoner Sunny was released on a 10-week-long parole and was supposed to return to jail after it lapsed, but he did not return,” the Jail Assistant Superintendent added in his complaint.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Bhondsi police station on Sunday. A senior police officer said that raids were being conducted and
the accused would be arrested soon.
