Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced financial assistance for the victims of the blast near the Red Fort, extending condolences to the bereaved families and assuring that the government stands firmly with those affected.
Describing the incident as “extremely tragic and heart-rending”, the CM said while no amount of money can compensate for the loss of life, the government was committed to supporting families through this difficult time. She announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
Victims who sustained injuries in the blast will also receive financial aid based on the severity of their condition. Those permanently disabled will be given Rs 5 lakh, the seriously injured Rs 2 lakh and those with minor injuries Rs 20,000.
“The loss of even a single life is an irreparable tragedy,” said Gupta, adding that the entire city stands united with the victims’ families. “The Delhi Government will ensure that no one feels abandoned in this moment of grief,” she said.
