Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday said the Rekha Gupta-led government, which completes 100 days in office tomorrow, has succeeded in creating a “positive and proactive image” in a short span, in stark contrast to what he termed the “decade of misrule” under the previous AAP government.

Addressing a press conference, Sachdeva said the Delhi people gave the BJP an absolute majority in February 2025, putting their trust in the party to fix the “neglect and political blame game” of the past 10 years.

“The greatest achievement of Rekha Gupta’s government is that unlike Arvind Kejriwal, who engaged in negative politics by blaming the Central Government, BJP and officials for his failures, the BJP government led by Gupta is proactive and is addressing every issue of Delhiites,” he said.

Sachdeva listed several key measures taken by the government in the past three months, claiming that these reflect a sincere commitment to governance and development. Among the major initiatives, he said, is the issuance of Ayushman Bharat cards providing health coverage of Rs 10 lakh to senior citizens and the launch of Rs 1 lakh crore development budget focused on infrastructure, transport, health and education.

Highlighting water and transport reforms, he said GPS systems had been installed in Delhi Jal Board tankers to improve water delivery in slum areas and a “summer action plan” has been rolled out to manage the seasonal water crisis.

The government has pressed 400 additional buses into service under the “Devi Yojana” to improve DTC’s performance, which, he claimed, had “crumbled” under the previous administration.

On environmental concerns, Sachdeva said the government had earmarked funds to install sewage treatment plants (STPs) on drains flowing into the Yamuna as part of its river-cleaning mission. In the health sector, the development of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, where citizens can avail of free medicines, diagnostic services and health checkups, is underway. Road maintenance and sanitation were also identified as early focus areas.

Other initiatives include budget allocation and policy groundwork for the Mahila Samman Scheme aimed at women’s welfare and introduction of the Delhi Education Act, which he said had renewed public trust in government schools.
