Rekha meets HM, Defence Minister ahead of Delhi Assembly’s first session
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as part of a series of high-level meetings ahead of the first session of the Delhi Assembly, on Sunday. The key highlight of the session will be tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on the very first day.
During her meeting with Shah, CM Gupta discussed the 100-day execution plan prepared by the BJP government to implement “Modi ki Guarantees”.
Gupta also sought Shah’s guidance on the plan, which aims to fulfil key promises made during the election campaign. In addition, she briefed the Union Home Minister on the steps being taken to roll out Rs 2,500 per monthly aid for women in Delhi, providing an update on instructions given to officials for drafting guidelines for the enrollment of beneficiaries under the scheme.
Shah took to social media to congratulate Gupta on her appointment, wishing her success in her new role. “Today, I congratulated the newly elected Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, and wished her all the best for her new responsibility. Keeping the trust that the people of Delhi have shown in the leadership and public welfare policies of Prime Minister Modi intact, your tenure as the Chief Minister will definitely take Delhi to new heights and fulfil all hopes and aspirations of the people,” Shah tweeted.
CM Gupta also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who expressed his best wishes for her tenure as the Chief Minister.
Rajnath Singh shared his thoughts on social media, writing, “I met Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday. I wish her all the best for Delhi to move ahead on the path of development and good governance. I also pray to God for her successful tenure.”
Accompanied by Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva, CM Gupta also paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, further strengthening inter-state ties.
