Rekha offers prayers at Hanuman temples, extends greetings

On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited several Hanuman temples across the city and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Delhi. She visited prominent shrines such as Sankat Mochan Dham in Karol Bagh, Siddh Hanuman Mandir and Hanuman temples in Hauz Khas, Connaught Place and Chandni Chowk.

The Chief Minister participated in special aartis, offered floral tributes and interacted with devotees at each temple. The spirit of devotion and unity resonated throughout the city as people gathered to celebrate the auspicious day with traditional fervour.

Speaking to the media during her visits, CM Gupta said: “Lord Hanuman is a timeless symbol of strength, devotion and humility. Inspired by his virtues, our government is moving ahead with renewed energy and commitment to build a Viksit Delhi.”

She also acknowledged the nationwide spirit of celebration. “From Ram Navami to Hanuman Jayanti, communities across the country are organising grand celebrations. As the Chief Minister of Delhi, I feel deeply honoured to be a part of these devotional gatherings,” she said.

Highlighting her government’s resolve, Gupta said: “With Lord Hanuman’s blessings, we are committed to creating a happy, healthy, educated and safe city. We draw inspiration and strength from Lord Hanuman to serve the people with dedication and fearlessness.”

The Chief Minister said: “Today, I bowed before Lord Hanuman and prayed for every citizen’s welfare. The divine energy I felt from the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and the devotion of people was truly uplifting.”

Gupta concluded by reaffirming her government’s commitment to public service and development. “With the support of the people and under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi will continue to progress. Our vision of a Viksit Bharat includes a strong and prosperous Delhi contributing to the nation’s growth.”

She also extended greetings to all residents on Hanuman Jayanti, urging everyone to embrace the values of strength, wisdom, and service as embodied by Lord Hanuman.

BJP leaders join celebrations

Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervour across the city on Saturday, with Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta leading several religious and community events. From temple visits and ceremonial processions to large-scale community feasts, BJP leaders engaged with citizens in a day filled with devotion and service.

Virendra Sachdeva and BJP’s state organisation general secretary Pawan Rana distributed prasad at a bhandara (community feast) organised outside the Delhi BJP headquarters. Senior party leaders, including Vishnu Mittal, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Satish Garg, Santosh Ojha, Mahendra Nagpal, Brijesh Rai, and Amit Gupta, were also present.

In the afternoon, CM Rekha Gupta and Virendra Sachdeva offered prayers at the historic Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place. They performed a ceremonial abhishek of the deity and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of Delhi residents.

Later in the evening, Sachdeva participated in the 300-year-old traditional procession of Shri Narsingh Hanuman Temple in Chandni Chowk where he also inaugurated the celebrations. He also attended Hanuman Jayanti events organised by various community groups, including a devotional gathering in Hauz Khas hosted by the local welfare association.

Extending greetings on the occasion, Virendra Sachdeva said, “Lord Hanuman is a symbol of strength, service and devotion. The BJP government in Delhi is committed to working in the same spirit to develop the Capital.”
