RSS-affiliate Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) is set to celebrate its 70th foundation anniversary on July 23 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister Mansukh Madaviya will address the event. BMS president Hiranmay Pandya said the journey of the BMS, which began in Bhopal on July 23, 1955, had been one of relentless service and dedication.

The BMS had expanded its scope beyond labour rights to address broader social concerns, Pandya added.

“BMS is not limited to struggles for pay, perks, and promotion. We are equally committed to the environment, social harmony, and ‘swadeshi’. This year, we added ‘kutumb prabodhan’ and ‘nagrik kartavya’ to our key focus areas,” Pandya said.

In August last year, the BMS launched a five-month, nationwide lecture series to spread awareness about these themes.

This was followed by the ‘Shramik Sampark’ initiative, and women’s and youth conferences in February-March 2025.

Pandya said, “The response from women and the youth has been overwhelming. It shows the growing trust and interest of workers in BMS across sectors.”

The Director of the India chapter of the International Labour Organisation, and officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment are expected to attend the event.

As part of the celebrations, the BMS will launch Karyakarta Data Application, a platform designed to improve data management and internal communication.

A 3-minute documentary showcasing the organisation’s legacy and achievements over the past seven decades will be showcased.
