Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and North West Delhi MP Yogendra Chandolia visited the Bawana area on Monday, where they exposed the deteriorating condition of over 50,000 flats originally constructed by the Central Government. The BJP leaders live-streamed their visit, showcasing the dilapidated state of the flats, which have been left to decay due to lack of maintenance under the AAP government.

Sachdeva condemned former Kejriwal for his failure to address the neglect of these flats, which were intended for sanitation workers and the underprivileged. He accused Kejriwal of being blinded by political vendetta and stubbornness, claiming that the CM’s desire to claim personal credit for the Central Government’s efforts led to the flats’ ruin.

“These flats have been left to deteriorate because Arvind Kejriwal insisted on renaming them after himself and seeking credit for the Central Government’s work,” Sachdeva said. “Despite the Central Government allocating Rs 12,000 crore for the construction of these flats, Kejriwal has failed to act and instead made false promises of providing new housing for the poor.”

Sachdeva further criticised Kejriwal for failing to allocate the necessary Rs 250 crore for the renovation of the flats, as requested by his own department. Instead, the Kejriwal government allocated a meager Rs 1 lakh, leading to the further degradation of the structures.

The BJP leader assured that if a BJP-led government comes to power in Delhi, they will prioritise the repair and renovation of these flats, ensuring that the underprivileged are provided with decent housing, similar to the efforts made by the Central Government to build homes for millions across the country.
