Same chemical Parvesh Verma once called poison is now being poured into Yamuna: Bharadwaj
Says the AAP has exposed countless lies of the BJP government to the public
Calling it a hypocrisy, Delhi AAP unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj on Thursday claimed that Water Minister Parvesh Verma, who three years ago created a spectacle by calling the de-foamer concentrate “poison” was now using the very same chemical through his own department to clean foam from the Yamuna river.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “We have exposed countless lies of the BJP government to the public. Revealing those lies, we became tired. Speaking those lies, we became exhausted, yet they keep coming up with new lies. And now we need the media too, so that it also exposes those lies actively.”
Bharadwaj said in 2022, formal tender for a de-foaming agent inside the Yamuna was issued by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) before Chhath Puja, so that the foam could be removed by dosing.
“While dosing was taking place, then BJP MP Parvesh arrived there and behaved very rudely with the DJB officials,” the AAP leader said.
Displaying two videos before the media, he further revealed, “CM Rekha Gupta is now avoiding the fact that the same chemical was being used by the Arvind Kejriwal government which the BJP had earlier stopped — to deliberately ensure that the foam remains in the Yamuna and people from Purvanchal are unable to perform Chhath Puja.”
Echoing similar views, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha said, “Today, Delhi has a BJP government and Parvesh Verma is the minister. The same de-foamer concentrate is now being poured into the Yamuna. So the question arises — if it was poison then, why is it being used now? And if it wasn’t poison then, why were lies spread earlier? The truth is clear — the BJP’s double standards and its leaders’ propaganda stand completely exposed before the people.”
Sharing a video on X on Wednesday, he said, “This chemical is a de-foamer concentrate. It is used to eliminate foam in a river. Now, Delhi has a BJP government and Parvesh Verma is the Water Minister. He is the same Parvesh Verma who, three years ago, created drama at the Yamuna Ghats before Chhath Puja over the same de-foamer concentrate, claiming that poison was being mixed into the river.”
