South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Sangam Vihar MLA Chandan Kumar Chaudhary on Sunday inaugurated a series of development projects worth Rs 100 crore in Sangam Vihar. The two leaders also flagged off two new DTC bus routes from the Sangam Vihar Shooting Range, aimed at improving public transport connectivity in the area.
According to MP Bidhuri, the projects include the construction of new roads and drains, Jal Board works, laying of water pipelines and sewerage infrastructure to address persistent waterlogging issues. He said that the development initiative would also cover road and street repairs across the locality.
Addressing a public gathering, Bidhuri and Chaudhary said Sangam Vihar — long regarded as one of the most neglected areas of Delhi — was now witnessing a new phase of transformation. “For years, residents of Sangam Vihar were forced to live in poor conditions, but now, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi Government is committed to turning it into one of the most developed and beautiful parts of the city,” Bidhuri said.
The newly-launched DTC routes will run from the Sangam Vihar Shooting Range to Mehrauli and from the Shooting Range to AIIMS, enhancing last-mile connectivity for residents.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, BJP workers and civic representatives.
