In a push to improve sanitation at the ward level, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has begun ground surveys across the city. MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya is visiting each ward with the respective municipal councillor to assess cleanliness and gather feedback RWAs.
During an inspection in Ward 1, sanitation lapses were found, prompting a penalty of Rs 2 lakh on the local contractor. Commissioner Dahiya, accompanied by Municipal Councillor Sundar Singh and local residents, inspected Nathupur village. “The Corporation is committed to making the city clean and healthy. Negligence by contractors will not be tolerated,” Dahiya said.
Meanwhile, special sanitation drives are being held in all four municipal zones, led by their respective joint commissioners with local participation. In Zone 1, a drive at the Badshahpur government school involved teachers and residents. In Zone 2, efforts were led in Daulatabad by Vishal Kumar and Councillor Satpal Singh. Zones 3 and 4 saw similar initiatives, led by senior officials and councillors.
