Schools in riot-hit northeast Delhi will remain closed on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said.

Internal examinations will also be postponed, the minister, who looks after education, said.

“I have asked the Central Board of Secondary Education to postpone board exams on Wednesday in light of the violence,” he said.

Eleven people were killed as communal violence blazed on into the third day in the national capital on Tuesday. The violence was concentrated in the northeastern part of the capital city and led to Delhi Police imposing curfew in Maujpur, Jafrabad, Chand Bagh, and Karawal Nagar. Agencies
