Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday said an AIIMS enquiry into the recent death of a journalist by suicide at the institute’s trauma centre has not found any mala fide or any lapse in treatment protocol.

Vardhan, however, said the AIIMS trauma centre medical superintendent had been replaced and a committee has been formed to suggest more administrative changes.

Tarun Sissodia, 37, had jumped to death from the fourth floor of the hospital. He was on COVID treatment and was recovering.

Vardhan today said “The 4-member inquiry committee, constituted to examine the suicide of Tarun Sisodiya, had submitted its report today.

“The committee did not find any mala fide intent in the death of Sisodiya. It also did not find any lapses in the treatment protocol of COVID-19,” he said.

Journalists have been seeking a judicial probe into the death.
