AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj on Friday accused the BJP of quietly transferring senior bureaucrats who had blocked key welfare schemes under the AAP government, claiming the move was aimed at shielding them from legal consequences.

Speaking at a press conference, Bharadwaj named Finance Secretary AC Verma and Health Secretary SB Deepak Kumar, alleging they raised arbitrary objections to stall critical projects like the Delhi Jal Board budget, old-age pensions, Mohalla Clinic operations, and the Farishtey scheme for accident victims.

He said these officers, previously favoured by the L-G and known for obstructing the AAP government’s work, are now being removed because their actions, once politically convenient, have created legal contradictions under the BJP’s own administration.

“Now that BJP is in power, if these officers clear the same files they once blocked, they risk going

to jail,” Bharadwaj claimed.

He added that officers who had written strong objections in files are now being replaced to avoid legal repercussions.

“They blocked everything from pensions to salaries, but now the BJP must deal with the mess they created,” Bharadwaj said, calling it a “self-goal” for the ruling party.

Bharadwaj also accused the BJP of having kept Delhiites in distress for two years to defame former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said the recent transfers expose the political motives behind the earlier administrative gridlock.
