A 32-year-old man suffered injuries in a firing incident near Monish Kada Hotel in Nizamuddin area here late on Thursday night, the police said.
The incident, which took place around 10 pm on August 1, is suspected to have stemmed from a dispute involving a former tenant.
The injured, identified as Furkan, was shot in the leg. He is undergoing treatment at the AIIMS Trauma Centre. The police said he, along with his two brothers Waseem (33) and Abdul Khalid (30), runs a shop named Qibla Perfumes. All three are residents of Nizamuddin.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Ehsaan, a former tenant of the family, reached the spot with a group of people and confronted Waseem. A heated argument ensued during which one of the accused opened fire. Furkan sustained injuries during the scuffle.
“Three empty cartridges and two live rounds were recovered from the spot,” the police said. The police have identified the accused and a case has been registered. “Efforts are on to nab those involved,” the police said.
