Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has announced the launch of the Smart Delhi Ideathon 2025, an innovation competition designed to address the city’s most pressing urban challenges. The online registration for the competition is now open, inviting students from all universities and colleges in Delhi to participate.
The competition aims to find innovative solutions to a wide range of urban issues, including reducing traffic congestion, enhancing women’s safety, improving air quality, achieving zero waste, maximizing water efficiency, promoting economic growth, and leveraging AI in governance. Participants are being encouraged to think creatively and propose practical solutions that could contribute to the development of a smarter, more sustainable Delhi. Students interested in participating can register online through GGSIPU’s official website at www.ipu.ac.in.
Shortlisted teams will be guided by experienced mentors and domain experts to refine their ideas and develop them into viable solutions.
The competition will be conducted in four stages. The first stage involves an online submission of ideas, open from Dec 28 to Jan 18. Shortlisted teams will enter the mentorship phase and on Feb 1, the shortlisted ideas will undergo physical evaluation, leading to the grand finale on February 4 when the winning teams will be announced.
The top three teams will be awarded cash prizes, with the first prize receiving Rs 5,00,000, the second prize Rs 3,00,000, and the third prize Rs 1,00,000.
