Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta paid a courtesy visit to Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Monday to apprise him of the major initiatives underway to modernise and strengthen the functioning of the Delhi Assembly.
During the meeting, Gupta briefed him on the Assembly’s transition towards becoming a fully digital legislature under the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project. He emphasised that the paperless system would not only enhance transparency and operational efficiency but also ensure seamless communication and information sharing among members of the House.
Highlighting the Assembly’s focus on sustainability, the Speaker informed Shah about the implementation of a 500 kW solar power project that would make the Assembly complex completely solar-powered. Calling it a landmark green initiative, Gupta said the move demonstrated the legislature’s commitment to environmentally responsible governance and could serve as an example for other government institutions to follow.
