The three-day Teej Mahotsav-2025, organised by the Delhi Government, concluded on a vibrant and culturally rich note at Dilli Haat, Pitampura on Sunday. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta graced the grand closing ceremony, joined by Minister of Art, Culture, Language & Tourism Kapil Mishra and several other dignitaries.

The festival, which began on Friday, was inaugurated by CM Gupta and celebrated as a tribute to traditional Indian culture, women empowerment and inclusive social participation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across the country, including Members of Parliament from Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Mallika Nadda was also among the special guests present at the event.

Calling Teej “not just a festival, but a cultural movement”, CM Gupta emphasised its deep-rooted connection with women’s identity and empowerment. “The presence of my sisters enhances the beauty of any celebration,” she said while interacting with women participants. “The huge turnout of women proves how deeply connected they are to the spirit of Teej. We arranged swings and free mehendi services for our sisters on this beautiful occasion. Every year, we will celebrate Teej with the same grandeur.”

The festival saw a massive footfall, with over 100 stalls offering traditional delicacies, handicrafts, and regional specialties. The venue also featured rangoli art, a dedicated kids’ zone, mehendi corners, slogan-writing and quiz competitions, selfie points and swing installations — all curated to offer an immersive festive experience. The event was promoted through BookMyShow and social media influencers, making it widely accessible to the public.

Minister Kapil Mishra highlighted that the event was completely free of cost for visitors and aimed at promoting women’s creativity and entrepreneurship. “This Mahotsav is a meaningful initiative in positioning Delhi as the cultural capital of the country,” he said.
