Asking a drunken man to pay for his meal proved costly for a hotel owner. The accused called his friends and not only brutally beat the proprietor and his son in the middle of the road, but also threatened to kill them by flashing a pistol. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera and a video went viral on social media.
An FIR was registered and three of the accused arrested within hours. The complainant runs a hotel at Hanuman Chowk near the Udyog Vihar Police Station. As per the complaint, on Thursday night at around 11.50 pm, Anish, a resident of Dundahera, arrived at his hotel, apparently inebriated. He ordered food packed from the hotel and left without paying. When he was asked to pay for it, he started abusing the hotel owner, saying the proprietor would face consequences. He then left.
“After some time, he came on a scooter with two boy and they started beating me and my father. Meanwhile, a black Scorpio came, four-five people got down, and they also started beating us. One of them even flashed a pistol at us,” the hotel owner said. The arrested accused were identified as Anish (30) and Manish (28) of village Dundahera, and Sandeep (24), of UP’s Chandauli village.
