The Delhi Police arrested three members of the Kala Jathedi gang who were involved in arms supply and extortion, police officials said on Monday.Police said that on November 25, based on information, Jugesh, alias Yogi, was apprehended with two pistols including a country made pistol, 11 live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle.

DCP (Dwarka), Ankit Singh said, “During interrogation it transpired that the accused was supplying arms and ammunitions for extortion racket being operated in the name of ‘Jony Bhai Kala Jatheri Gang’,”

He further revealed that financial assistance to him was being provided by Rohit Lather who had also provided him with arms, Singh added.

“Rohit Lather and Ritik Lather were apprehended from village Gangesar in Gohana, Sonepat along with a pistol and four live cartridges recovered from their rented accommodation in Mohan Garden, Delhi,” he further said.

A police official said that the person who was making ransom calls under the name of ‘Jony Bhai’ was Aman Lather, the interrogation revealed.

“Aman Lather alias Jony was in touch with criminals of Kala Jathedi gang and he went to the US through the donkey route in Feb 2023.” the official added.

Accused Rohit Lather had also provided information about influential people of Dwarka area for making extortion calls, police said.

On May this year, two unknown bike riders had fired at the office of ‘Tony Builders’ in the area of Mohan Garden.

Similarly, on June 1, the same two bike borne assailants again fired at the office of ‘Tony Builders’ and threw a slip having the mention, ‘Jony Bhai, Kala Jatheri Bhai’ and fled from the spot, police said.

However, they were caught on their way by the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Dwarka, after exchange of fire in a live encounter. During interrogation it was revealed by accused persons that they obtained weapons from Park Near Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan, Sec-23 Dwarka, the DCP said.

“They were directed by ‘Jony Bhai’of Kala Jatheri gang through Signal Calling App who also directed the accused to rob motorcycle by using weapons provided to them.” he added.

The accused had robbed the motorcycle from a person in Rohtak, Haryana after gunning him down.

Additionally, similar incidents occurred in September, where bike-borne assailants fired two shots at Dutta Associates office in Mohan Garden and left a not mentioning ‘Jony Bhai, Kala Jatheri Bhai’.

The investigation revealed that Aman Kumar and Jugesh were involved in the incident and had been absconding.

“Jugesh continuously changed his position and was traced near Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, however, when the police reached he moved to Gujarat and thereafter shifting to Naxalite area in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra.” Singh added.
