“We got a tip-off that these criminals, who were actively involved in cases of burglary, robbery and vehicle theft, will be arriving at Pansali Road, Begampur, in a black car with firearms to commit a crime,” said an official.

The police laid a trap and saw the accused approaching around 10:30 pm. “When the cops signalled them to stop, they opened fire on the police team in an attempt to escape. The police also retaliated in self-defense, leading to gunshot injuries in the legs of two of the accused,” added the official.
