The Faridabad police apprehended three minors over theft at international boxer Mary Kom’s home in Faridabad. The stolen items, including two branded watches and three LEDs were seized from their possession.
The minors decamped with valuables after breaking into the residence in Sector 46 on Wednesday while the boxer was in Meghalaya for a marathon. The incident came to light when when a neighbour was scanning through her CCTV footage on Saturday and spotted some people running away with valuables on their shoulders. After it was confirmed that Kom’s house was robbed, they informed the police. An FIR was registered at the Surajkund Police Station.
While investigating, the police caught three minors on Monday, within 24 hours of the FIR being registered.
“The minors are school dropouts and are 15 to 16 years old. The stolen items were recovered from their houses. They are being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. A further probe is underway,” a police spokesperson said.
