Tri Nagar residents protest over poor living conditions

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections slated for early next year, Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal has intensified his campaign against AAP MLAs, highlighting the deteriorating state of localities in his constituency. A massive protest was held on Monday at Britannia Chowk, Shakurpur, where residents expressed outrage over worsening living conditions and lack of basic public services in the Tri Nagar Assembly constituency.

The protest, led by Khandelwal, witnessed a large turnout of frustrated residents who held placards and chanted slogans — ‘Vidhayak badlo, halat badlo’, ‘Dilli ki sarkar badlo’, and ‘Tri Nagar vidhansabha ki kaya palto’. The demonstrators directly blamed AAP MLA Preeti Tomar for the area’s unresolved issues, including broken roads, clogged sewers, contaminated water supply, and rising electricity tariffs.

Residents echoed these sentiments, sharing their grievances about the poor quality of public services. “The sewers are perpetually blocked, roads are riddled with potholes, and the water we get is dirty. Meanwhile, our electricity bills are skyrocketing,” said a local protester. “We feel abandoned by those we elected to represent us.”

Addressing the crowd, Khandelwal said, “The residents of Tri Nagar deserve better infrastructure, cleaner surroundings, and affordable basic services. This protest is a wake-up call for those in power to take responsibility or face the consequences in the upcoming elections.”
