Gurugram police have arrested three women for stealing goods worth lakhs of rupees from a Reliance Retail Store located on MG Road. A total of 31 clothing items and other stolen goods were recovered from their possession.
According to the police, the store manager had filed a complaint on August 11, stating that during the annual inventory audit, a shortage of 936 items worth Rs 9.43 lakh was detected. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at DLF Phase 2 police station.
During investigation, the police arrested three women on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Soni alias Sakshi, Sangeeta Tiwari and Vasundhara, all natives of Bihar and currently residing as tenants in the Chakkarpur area.
“During interrogation, the accused women confessed that they had stolen numerous items over the past six months during their visits to the store under the pretext of shopping. All three women were produced in a city court today and remanded in judicial custody. A further probe is underway,” said the spokesperson of Gurugram police.
