Trust head booked for misusing land allotted for community centre
The PAU police station has registered a case against the president of Shivalik Welfare Trust, Kitchlu Nagar and his associates for allegedly misusing land allotted for the construction of a community centre.
The case was filed following a complaint by an official of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT). Charges include fraud, criminal conspiracy, and criminal breach of trust.
According to the LIT, the land had been allotted under a development scheme specifically for the establishment of a community centre. However, during a recent inspection, the site was found encircled by four walls, with no signs of a functioning community facility.
Instead, the inspection revealed a locked office, an additional room appearing to be a residential unit housing a family, and the remaining area being used as a playground. After verifying the facts, LIT had lodged a police complaint and after preliminary investigation, a case was registered against the accused.
Investigating officer ASI Gurpreet Singh said after registering a case, further investigation was launched.
