Two dead, son injured in Nuh hit-and-run

A woman and her daughter were killed, and her son seriously injured, after an unknown vehicle struck the motorcycle they were travelling on from behind between Ghaseda and Salamba villages on National Highway 248A on Friday morning.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Zaida (52) and her daughter Jasmine (17), while the injured son, Tarif, is also a resident of Ghaseda village in Nuh district. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately. No formal complaint had been filed by the family at the time of reporting.

Tarif was taking his mother Zaida and sister Jasmine to Nalhar Medical College, where they were undergoing treatment. The accident occurred shortly after they left home, near a petrol pump just outside Ghaseda village. The speeding vehicle hit the bike from behind, killing Jasmine instantly. Zaida and Tarif were critically injured and rushed to Nalhar Medical College by bystanders. Doctors later declared Zaida dead.

A senior police officer said Tarif is currently undergoing treatment and his condition is reportedly improving. “We will register a case after receiving a complaint from the family,” the officer added.
