Two juveniles have been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a minor boy in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area. The suspects, aged 16 and 15, allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, officials said on Monday.

According to the police, they got information around 9:45 pm on February 9 that a boy, aged around 18 years, was found lying in a pool of blood in Street No. 7, Gautampuri.

After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and found the victim lying in a poll of blood with multiple stab wounds. He was immediately shifted to GTB Hospital, where he was declared dead.

A case was registered under Sections 103 (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

“After scrutinising the CCTV footage of the area, we identified the juveniles and apprehend them within hours,” an officer said.

During questioning, the juveniles allegedly said they knew the victim as they all lived in the same locality. “They claimed that the deceased used to bully them. He also demanded money from them, which they were not able to pay. Frustrated with harassment, they attacked him,” the officer said.

The police recovered the weapon used in the crime from their possession, the police said. Efforts are on to trace one more person allegedly involved in the attack.
