The Delhi Police on Monday apprehended two minors for their alleged involvement in a case of cow slaughter near Signature Bridge in New Usmanpur area of North East Delhi.

The police said they received information about the incident around 8:20 pm. “On reaching the spot, the police found two minors involved in cow slaughter. The police apprehended them,” officials said.

The police found carcasses of two cows, slaughtering tools, a syringe, a medicine bottle and a car used in transportation from the spot.

A case has been registered under Sections 325 (killing, poisoning or maiming an animal), 195 (assaulting or obstructing public servant when suppressing riot) and 299 (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
