The police have seized two country-made pistols and live cartridges from their possession, effectively preventing a targeted killing that was being planned on the instructions of jailed gangster Om Parkash alias Kala, a key operative of the Kala Jathedi gang who is currently lodged in judicial custody.

According to the police, the duo had been directed by Om Parkash and his brother Amit to eliminate a specific individual from their village due to personal enmity

The plot, the cops said, was conceived during visits to Tihar Jail, where the accused frequently met the incarcerated gang members.

Following their release from previous arrests, they were allegedly instructed to arrange firearms and execute the hit. However, acting swiftly on specific intelligence, the AATS team intercepted the two before they could carry out the crime.

During interrogation, both accused confessed to their association with Om Parkash alias Kala’s gang.

The police said Vinod, a habitual offender previously involved in multiple Arms Act cases, had recently been released from jail and quickly resumed criminal activities at the behest of the gang.

His associate Dhruv, who has two past criminal cases against him, was also found to have regularly visited Tihar Jail as a visitor of Amit alias Bage.

A case under the Arms Act has been registered at Police station Baba Haridass Nagar), and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the seized weapons and identify other members involved in the conspiracy hatched from jail, Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) said.
