The Crown Prince of the UAE, Sheikh Khaled Zayed Al Nahyan, planted a sapling of Amaltas (Cassia Fistula) at the Rajghat in the Capital, becoming the third-generation member of his family to plant a sapling at the venue.
The Crown Prince, on his two-day visit to India, held a bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi and called on President Droupadi Murmu.
In 1992, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, planted a sapling during his visit to India. In 2016, his son, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the current President of UAE, continued the tradition. India and the UAE share a multifaceted relationship, of which sustainability partnership forms a key pillar.
