Marking 11 years of the PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre, West Delhi MP and Delhi BJP general secretary Kamaljeet Sehrawat on Thursday presented a detailed report highlighting key development initiatives undertaken in the constituency.

She said, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, West Delhi had witnessed a transformation through infrastructure expansion, social welfare schemes and urban upgrades.

Addressing a press conference, Sehrawat was joined by BJP leaders, including West Delhi district president Chandrapal Bakshi, Najafgarh district president Raj Sharma Gautam and state spokesperson Mamta Tyagi.

Sehrawat said projects such as the Bharat Vandana Park (Rs 500 crore), Yashobhoomi Convention Centre (Rs 26,000 crore), and the upcoming 40,000-seat multi-sports arena in Sector 19 were reshaping the region.

She highlighted the establishment of Veer Savarkar College in Najafgarh and the new Delhi University West Campus in Dwarka.

Seven community halls and five dedicated sports complexes had been set up across the constituency, she added.

She said the government’s push for connectivity had significantly impacted West Delhi.

Infrastructure projects such as the Urban Extension Road (UR-2), Dwarka Expressway, and a new tunnel near Shiv Murti were easing traffic congestion and reducing travel time, she added.

Three metro line extensions — Najafgarh to Dhansa, Janakpuri to Kalindi Kunj, and a new corridor from Krishna Park — had been approved, further boosting local transit, she said.

Sehrawat said more than 50,000 street vendors had benefited from government schemes, and over 40,000 women had received support under the Ujjwala Yojana. Around Rs 320 crore had been allocated for the development of villages in the constituency, she added.

A new water treatment plant was being built in Najafgarh to address water shortages, while parks across Dwarka and West Delhi were being redeveloped with thematic landscaping, she said.

“West Delhi has gained world-class facilities over the last 11 years. With continued support from the Central Government, the region is ready to lead Delhi’s development story,” she said.
