The Tulip Festival at Chanakyapuri is attracting individuals from various walks of life, ranging from college students and tourists to office workers, couples and friends. Vibrant tulips sourced from the Netherlands and provided by the Dutch Embassy are being showcased at the festival.
While many people are arriving with their families and friends for picnic, couples can also be seen enjoying their dates. Many people are also bringing their pets to Shanti Path in Chanakyapuri, where tulips are blooming in varied colours.
DU student Anamika, who hails from Bihar, said Instagram reels prompted her to visit the Tulip Festival.
Another visitor Kanika said yellow tulips are her favourite. She further added that although her expectations were a little high, it was good nevertheless.
“I attended one class and bunked another to get here,” admitted Nehal, who visited the festival with her friends.
She said, “I really like the gradient and red tulips the most as they really complement a person in photographs. We usually see reels of Tulips from Netherlands. The garden is looking really pretty and was worth bunking our class.”
Aditi said, “As I live in the Lodhi Road area, I often visit the Lodhi Garden but tulips are a rare sight.”
The festival has not only attracted Delhi residents, but also tourists like Kawi from Manipur, who originally came to Delhi for her exams. She said, “I saw it first on Instagram reels and honestly seeing it in real life is way beyond my expectation since in the reel very few tulips were shown but the flowers here are a lot in number.”
