Visual treat on cards for automotive enthusiasts at vintage car show
Delhi is poised to reaffirm its reputation as India’s Vintage Car Capital with the highly anticipated 11th edition of the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance.
This premier event, scheduled from February 21 to 23, promises to immerse automotive enthusiasts in a world of vintage elegance and timeless craftsmanship.
The three-day celebration will begin with a grand flag off at India Gate and will culminate at the scenic Ambience Greens, Golf Course, Gurugram, where the classic automobiles will be showcased in all their glory.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s most prestigious gatherings for vintage and classic cars, the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance will feature a stunning array of 125 rare vintage cars and 50 heritage motorcycles.
This year’s event promises to be a spectacular visual feast, drawing collectors and aficionados from across the globe to witness the finest treasures of motoring history. The line-up includes legendary marques like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Cadillac and Aston Martin, each telling a unique story of engineering excellence and automotive heritage.
Among the standout exhibits is the luxurious 1939 Delahaye (Figoni et Falaschi), an epitome of artistry and design. Alongside this beauty, attendees will also marvel at the debut of three extraordinary vintage automobiles - 1932 Lancia Astura Pininfarina, 1936 AC 16/70 Sports Coupe and 1948 Bentley Mark 6 Drophead Coupe. These rare cars have never before been seen in such an iconic gathering, making this edition of the Concours a true milestone.
The event, however, is more than just a display of cars. It’s a cultural extravaganza. While automobiles are the stars of the show, visitors will also be treated to mesmerising performances of Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali and vibrant folk dances from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Haryana. This fusion of art and heritage will create an immersive experience that extends beyond the world of vintage cars.
Madan Mohan, Founder & Managing Trustee of the 21 Gun Salute Heritage & Cultural Trust, shared his excitement about the growing global significance of the event. “Each year, we set new benchmarks in positioning India on the global heritage motoring map. The 11th edition is poised to attract some of the rarest and most exquisite classic automobiles, setting the stage for record-breaking participation. We are excited to welcome collectors, enthusiasts and global connoisseurs who will come together to celebrate automotive history.”
He said: “Delhi-NCR is rapidly becoming the hub for vintage car lovers. This event reinforces the city’s status as the epicenter of heritage motoring. With its world-class infrastructure, a thriving automotive industry and the presence of luxury car brands, Delhi is the perfect destination for such a prestigious event.”
This year, the Concours will also feature initiatives designed to inspire future generations of vintage car lovers. The Junior Concours Grand Prix, an interactive platform for children and families, will allow young minds to engage with the world of classic cars and spark a passion for automotive history.
Adding another exciting dimension to the event, a nationwide Concours photography competition will invite photographers to capture the elegance and beauty of the displayed automobiles, allowing the artistry of these timeless machines to be immortalised in images.
With 35 esteemed jury members from around the world judging the vehicles, the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance is not just a car show but a global celebration of craftsmanship, history and culture. As the event takes its place on the global motoring calendar, Delhi continues to shine as the epicenter of vintage car passion in India.
