We will win more seats than last time: Kejriwal

At AAP’s Mandal Padadhikari meeting in Pitampura on Saturday, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared the upcoming Delhi assembly elections a fight for the city’s survival.

Kejriwal said that the election would be about preventing the BJP from dismantling the progress made under AAP’s governance. “This election is about saving Delhi from doom; we will fight it as if Kejriwal is himself contesting on all 70 seats.”

He said that he was confident to win more seats in the upcoming elections than the previous ones, AAP currently holds 62 seats and BJP has eight. “We are confident this time AAP will get more seats than last time,” he added.

In a scathing critique of the BJP, Kejriwal remarked that the brief period during which AAP leaders were jailed gave Delhi a preview of what BJP rule would look like. “When they put us in jail, the people of Delhi got a trailer of what BJP’s rule in Delhi would look like,” he stated.

He accused the BJP of using administrative roadblocks through the Lieutenant Governor’s office to halt progress. “They had their LG in their favour; they could have used the L-G to accelerate work; but they used him to stop all progress.”

Kejriwal stressed the importance of unity among party workers and urged them to set aside internal conflicts. “No room for internal bickering; we need to stay united like a fist to ensure no power can defeat us,” he stated. He called on volunteers to focus solely on the larger goal, assuring them that he would take responsibility for resolving local issues.
