What our readers say: Bandhwari landfill polluting atmosphere
THE Bandhwari landfill on the Gurugram-Faridabad highway, now holding over 10 lakh tonnes of garbage, is not only stinking but has also encroached onto the main highway, polluting the entire atmosphere in the surrounding populated areas. The landfill’s massive size continues to grow, with more than 50 tonnes of garbage added daily. It seems that the administration and the company responsible for managing the landfill have little interest in resolving the issue. If this situation remains unchecked, it could soon become explosive and impossible to manage.

Frequent Lane Changing posing risk of accidents
THE practice of changing lanes frequently and suddenly on highways and main roads by commuters has become quite common nowadays. As violation of rules in the form of not following the lane rule or overtaking the vehicles has become a cause for several accidents, the police needs to take strict action against such offenders. The installation of more CCTV cameras and issuing challans should be paced up, keeping in view the rise in such violations.
