Will neither fear, nor give up: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

Resumes public engagements two days after attack during ‘Jan Sunwai’ event

Two days after being injured in an attack during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ event, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday returned to public life with a spirited message of resilience. Declaring that she would “neither fear, nor ever give up,” Gupta announced that East Delhi would be placed at the forefront of the capital’s development.

Addressing a special programme in Gandhi Nagar, the Chief Minister appeared composed and energetic.

“Until Delhi secures its rightful entitlements, I will continue my struggle. Perseverance is my life force, and I will remain unwavering in this pledge,” she told the gathering.

Gupta, who has been spearheading her mission of building a “Developed Delhi” for the past six months, resumed official work despite doctors’ advice for extended rest. After the attack On Wednesday, the Chief Minister was attacked by a man, following which she was kept under medical observation.

Undeterred, the Chief Minister had asserted on the very evening of the incident that such assaults could not break her resolve. “Public hearings and solutions to citizens’ issues will continue with the same seriousness and commitment as before. Your trust and support are my greatest strength,” she said.

On Friday, Gupta further announced that public hearings would now be held not only at her residence but across every Assembly constituency in Delhi. Reaffirming her commitment to public service, she said, “Every moment of my life and every particle of my being belongs to Delhi. Women have double the strength to withstand adversity, and I am ready to face every trial.”
