A 21-year-old woman, Saadma, was reportedly shot at by her sister-in-law’s brother following a heated argument over sharing pizzas in North East Delhi’s Welcome area, the police said on Thursday. According to DCP (North East) Rakesh Paweriya, “Initial investigation revealed that the victim’s brother-in-law Zeeshan brought pizzas for the entire family on Wednesday. He gave them to everyone in the family, including Saadma, the wife of his younger brother Javed,” the DCP said.

Zeeshan’s wife Saadiya, who had a dispute with Saadma, got upset over her husband sharing food with her sister-in-law and this led to a fight between the three, the officer said.

Sadia was unhappy with Saadma and wanted to live separately, he added.

An enraged Sadia called her four brothers — Tafseer (28), Shahzad (22), Gulrez (31) and Muntahir (35) — to the house, the DCP added.

A fight broke out between Sadia’s brothers and her husband’s family members. Muntahir allegedly pulled out a pistol and opened fire, hitting Saadma in the stomach, the police said. Saadma was rushed to GTB Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
