A 20-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by a jilted lover in Northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagari area on Monday, the police said.
The accused, identified as Akash, confessed to the crime in front of the victim’s family. He later surrendered before the police.
According to officials, the incident took place around 10:30 am when the victim stepped out of her home to buy samosas.
Akash allegedly blocked her path and stabbed her multiple times when she resisted his advances. The woman, who suffered serious injuries, died on the spot.
Soon after the attack, Akash went straight to her home and told her family, “jaao apni beti ko dekh lo, maine uski hatya kar di (Go see your daughter, I have killed her.)” He then surrendered before the Nand Nagari police.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The police are trying to locate the weapon used in the attack. Officials said the accused was being questioned and further investigation was on in the case.
