“Whatever targets have been given by PM Modi in today’s meeting, I assure him on behalf of the people of Haryana that we will move forward rapidly toward achieving them, in alignment with the vision of a Developed India by 2047,” said Saini.

On the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s verdict on the socio-economic criteria for government jobs, Saini said, “I welcome the decision of the honourable court.” He assured the youth of Haryana that “as long as Nayab Singh Saini is in office, no young person in the state needs to worry”. He said the government would study the judgment before taking the next step.

Modi emphasised the importance of rural development and women empowerment, said Saini, adding that Haryana had set a target of creating five lakh 'lakhpati didis', and so far, two lakh women had achieved the milestone.

A world-class tourism centre would be developed in Haryana, and work would be undertaken on linking rivers, the CM said. "The PM placed special emphasis on river linking and water conservation," he said.
