Jap Preet Singh Gill, a 15-year-old prodigy and son of Abohar-born sportsperson Kitty Gill, has made the Punjabi community in the US proud by simultaneously completing his high school graduation and bachelor’s degree in Fresno, California.

With this, he has shortened his education timeline by nearly eight years. He has now enrolled in a university to pursue a law degree and, if all goes as planned, will become a lawyer by the age of 18 — potentially the first American Indian to do so.

According to Jap Preet’s relatives in Abohar, the extraordinary feat is the result of his dedication, intelligence, and relentless hard work.

Jap Preet’s father, Kitty Gill, is a decorated athlete himself. He was awarded the prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award in cycling, represented India in the Asian Games, and also qualified for the Olympics. Now residing in Fresno, Kitty runs a clinic, and both he and his wife are known for their commitment to helping those in need.

Proud of his son's achievement, Kitty shared that Jap Preet has always been academically gifted and curious about every subject. "His thinking is far ahead of his age. He dreams of bringing positive change to the American justice system and wants to work for the underprivileged," he said.

Kitty Gill said he is proud of his son’s achievement. He said Jap Preet has always been academically inclined, with a keen interest in every subject.

His thinking is far beyond his age, and he dreams of one day bringing meaningful change to the American justice system. His goal is to work for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society, Gill added.
