A man from Gujarat tried to enter the US using a Pakistani identity but was caught and deported.

AC Patel—disguised as Mohammad Najir Hussain—tried to enter the US, but was sent back to India after authorities saw through the deception, reports The Times Of India.

Patel arrived at Delhi airport on February 12 where immigration officials realised the Pakistani passport he was carrying was not forged, but an actual lost document belonging to Mohammad Najir Hussain.

Delhi Police arrested him on charges of cheating by impersonation and misuse of a passport.

Patel also admitted he had paid an agent in Dubai to obtain the fraudulent identity.

Patel’s passport had expired in 2016.

These cases come as US authorities intensify their crackdown on undocumented Indian immigrants following Donald Trump's return to office in January. In the past month alone, four flights carrying Indian deportees, including 74 Gujaratis, have been sent to India.
